Consulate Review: Frankfurt, Germany
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 22, 2022
Embassy Review : My interview was at 8.30 a.m. I arrived 30 min prior to my appointment to a long line infront of the consulate but it was moving fast.
It was 8.30 a.m. when I reached the counter on the left side in the front of the building. There I had to present my passport and ceac document.
A lady put remarks onto my passport and gave me a waiting number and told me to go to counter no 22. Then I waited to go to the counter on the right side where I was asked to switch off my cell phone and then I went into the building through the security and handed them my phone in exchange for a number for my items that were kept in a basket for me. Everybody so far was very friendly and professional.

I then walked into another building and went to counter 22. The gentleman had my file and put my passport on top of the file and handed it to an other officer.
I had to wait for my number to come up on the display and then went to speak to a lady who asked me general questions about my stays in the US and confirmed my address.

I then had to wait again for my name to be called by an officer. It took a while and increased my nervousness we have been waiting before covid lockdowns and I really didn't want to mess this up. The officer again went through my file and paper work. He asked me lots of tough questions:

-When did you meet
-How did you meet
-On what visa were you then when you met
-When and how did your relationship start
-Our age diffrence
-What is your profession
-Did you finish studying / at what level are you now
-It must have been very difficult to achieve as a single mother (I am a single mother)
-Are you going to work in that field in the US
-What his profession is
-Does my fiance support me (we have a child together)
-When was the last time my fiance visited us
-Do you have relatives in the US
-How are they related to you
-I want to see more photos

I had printed out lots of photos and put in cards I had received for my birthday and valentines day ect.

The officer was very friendly and professional at all times. I believe the interview was about 15 min long. He then told me that we were approved.
Since I showed no reaction he repeated it twice. I was in disbelief that finally after 2,5 years of seperation and the lockdown hell being a single mum
this was it. We made it.

The officer explained the procedure of the visa and kept my passport which will be returned by mail. WITH THE VISA OMG

Rating : Very Good

POE Review: Miami
Event Description
Entry Date : 2022-05-19
Embassy Review : Pretty painless. The officer took the envelope with him and came back with my stamped passport.
We literally spent 10 minutes waiting in a seperate area. The officer was very polite and professional.
He explained the process and we were good to go
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
