Profile pic - Rainbow Tower of the Hilton Hawaiian Village - Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

@Suze1 Did the letter you received from Social Security state they would mail you a new card?  Our did, but I'm thinking it's just a format letter.

Way to GO! Good for YOU!

Was quick and simple right!

SSA

Yes, our letter also said, if they did not need more info from us, we would get another SSN card shortly.

No new card yet. It has been about two weeks, so we think maybe this week.

We have also checked with SSA several times, and our record  has not been updated yet.

So...we shall see how long that  takes and let you know here.

-------

DMV

The next thing is updating the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), right.

So, we spoke with them,  several times.

Here in Florida, the local DMV said that once our SSA record has been updated, we can come into our local office anytime (without an appointment at our local office), and apply for an updated DRIVER'S license, including paying the $31 for the license.

Note, the current license is brand new, and is already REAL ID,  with the correct married name and correct address!

Bummed  that we have to actually get a license  replacement....and pay for it, but it is what it is.

We  spoke with several  DMV clerks, they all said this same thing.

So,  will let ya know.

Best,

Suze1

Yes, it was quick and simple.  Thanks for the info.

Informed delivery today shows another letter coming from Social Security Administration.  Will post here on what it says.  My wife's Social Security card is correct as is and has no limitations on it.  So it will be interesting to see if they send another card.

My wife's FL driver license was originally issued as REAL ID compliant (the gold star on the license) and no name change is required for her.  After updating your Driver license, did you get a revised expiration date?  I agree, it's a bummer to pay for another license.

Same for us. They said  we  will get another SSA card.

Did you call  SSA and see  if they updated your record yet? If so,  you are good to go at DMV.

(We have not gotten a second SSA letter yet, BTW).

Have not gotten the new  SSA card yet,  so have not applied for the updated DL yet either.

Yes,  let  us know how yours goes.

Have not called SSA yet.  Will give it a few days before calling.  Main thing for us is that we got the passport back.  Will provide updates here as things progress.

Great. Likewise.

Just checked Informed Delivery  - Nothing from SSA, but something from IRS regarding the stimulus checks!

Did any of you have a different name version on your naturalisation certificate than your greencard? I had to have a new card because the naturalisation certificate spelled out my entire name, while the greencard had a middle initial instead of middle name and so did my SS card.

@Wuozopo

Social Security Card and Naturalization Letter and Certificate all had the whole name - including the middle name - spelled out.

All matched.

-----

(In fact, the letter had both the First, Middle, and Last Name on the first line, and the second line C/O First Name, Last Name only.)

First Name,      Middle Name  ( = Previous Maiden Name)    Married Last Name

C/O First Name         Married Last Name

And, they say we are getting a new SSA card, and we have to get a new Driver's License, even though the correct full name is there.

Still waiting for the mail to arrive.  Always seems like the mail person comes later than usual when I'm waiting for a package or important letter.

Haa haa...RIGHT!!!!

Informed Delivery had nothing scheduled from SSA for today...just went out and got the mail - NADA from SSA!

Dying to see if you get your card today. That would be super quick!

I ordered some books (calculus) two weeks ago...STILL waiting for them to arrive. SMH

You can give them a call before 4pm...and they might tell you.

(We are only about 80 mins away from each other...both in fairly smallish towns. Went to same Tampa Office for naturalization too, I imagine.)
