What exactly happens between DQ at NVC and embassy interview? Can I extract some info from CEAC?

On Oct 7 I received the email with the title "Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified" from NVC which I think means that my case is DQ'ed. I know that in the big picture, the next step is the interview.

What happens exactly between these two events?

 

In CEAC I see this. In particular I am wondering what "Your Case is Currently At: NVC" means:

 

 

Will this change to the embassy at some point?

Does this mean the case is still at NVC (despite being DQ'ed for 4 months) and the embassy has not received my documents/material/case yet?

Or will this be at "NVC" until I have the interview?

Your case is still at NVC.  Below is the process.  You just have to wait your turn:

Overall time depends on the length of the backlog queue for each consulate at NVC and the workload of the individual consulate.

1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.

2. Case the enters NVC queue for interview and waits at NVC.

3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.

4. NVC schedules interview when case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.

5. NVC notifies person of interview date.

6. NVC then sends case to consulate.

After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

At some point, it could change to "In Transit" after step 5......We received no updates between steps 1 and 5.  There is really no way to know how long the queue for your consulate is at NVC (other than looking at other individual timelines).

Ok, thank you, understand now.

 

My embassy is very small. I only have two datapoints but if they are accurate then it should be a matter of only 3-4 weeks. But who knows what Covid messes up.

Hopefully it will be soon.  It took us only a few days from steps 1 to 5.......but that was in mid 2017.

Your embassy is small but you said in past posts,  you are living and working in Montreal  

Will you return to Vienna to interview?

as the covid is an issue in European embassies
