Hello

We were DQed November 27 and our case is still at the NVC. I’ve spoken to the embassy and NVC and said we have to wait until it’s our turn. I’m confused though, considering the US embassy Dublin seems pretty slow and not very busy -

does the NVC divide cases into countries? Or are all the cases in one big pile and they send each one to the embassy required?

And does the Nvc send over your case and then the embassy schedules your interview? Or does the Nvc contact the embassy and they coordinate an interview date together?

last question - does the Nvc contact you regarding your interview through email or letter?

thanks for any help!

The NVC is so frustrating.

This is the interview scheduling process for IR-1/CR-1 cases:

1.  NVC verifies submitted documents for case  (DQ).

2.  Individual consulates inform NVC of their available dates in next month.

3.  Using that information from individual consulates, NVC schedules interview for cases which are at the front of the queue for that consulate.

4.  NVC then sends case to consulate after scheduling the interview.

One more thing.  At NVC, a case enters the queue after being "DQ'd"....

We were DQ'd Oct 16th and are still waiting at the NVC too. It's a patience game, friend. Have patience. You've come this far! 👐

Thanks. I just don’t understand why the Nvc takes so long

Just for reference, we were DQ’D the 1st September and are still waiting for our interview to be scheduled in Dublin. Hopefully with things up and running again we’ll get there soon enough.

Oh wow! Do you happen to know which dates they’re currently setting appointments for? I thought they were farther along than that :(

I don’t actually. The problem is everything keeps getting pushed back every time they close down the embassy. I know they are now rescheduling all of the cancelled appointments from the past 6 weeks. If I remember correctly, right before this last shut down they were schuleduling for July I think.

And another lockdown in January I’m thinking. It’s never ending

A little update for this thread. We got the email today that our case was received by the consulate and we have our interview scheduled for the 15th of January. Hopefully the rest of you will hear some good news soon as well!

Thank you for the update and congratulations! Let us know how it goes! Fingers crossed the embassy doesn’t close for another lockdown

Is your interview going ahead or has it been canceled? Curious if the embassy will continue with interviews this time around considering the lockdown has more exclusions.
