Affidavit of support validity

So I have my interview scheduled for January 7th at the London embassy after waiting almost 9 months. I had my previous interview cancelled but my fiancé had sent me the affidavit of support for it. Will this still be valid almost 9 month after the date it was filled out? Nothing has changed in the affidavit.

I'd double-check to make sure a new version of the form hasn't come out (if it has, he'll need to send a new one).

Also, if your fiancé didn't send his 2019 tax transcripts or tax return last spring (which he didn't have to then, as it was before 2019 tax forms were due even ignoring the COVID-related extensions), he'll need to send them now.

But if you've got his 2019 tax returns or transcripts and the form version hasn't changed, you're good.

Also check to see if you need 12 months worth of pay stubs. If so, you might need to update those... And likely even a new employment letter with updated date. A lot could have happened in the last 8 months...

8 months from DQ to Interview ? is this normal wait time? because almost all had to wait 3 to 5 months.

Yes, I’m not sure if you were aware but there was a global pandemic that crippled the department of state and shut embassies down.

OP is applying for a K-1.   There is no DQ for that visa.

The delays are covid-related.

Certainly not k1.  It has been mostly shutdown since March and continues to be in many consulates

I can’t speak for other visas, but K1s were de-prioritised from March. A lot of people have literally had to sue the department of state just to get them to start processing them again.

Thank you, do you know if a letter from the officer of the bank with the past years deposits is required as a supporting document, or will tax returns, letter from employer and pay stubs be sufficient?

Documenting assets is only required if income is insufficient (it's a good idea if you're close) and you don't have a joint sponsor lined up.

Also FYI - the document they want for verification of a bank account is called "verification of deposits" and is available online from at least some banks.

This is really helpful, thank you. My fiancé’s income is more than sufficient for just myself as she has no other dependents, but it can’t hurt to have as much supporting documents, just in case they ask.
