We are still waiting for NOA2. It’s been 11 months now. I called a few weeks ago and security checks were done all the way back in July so it’s just frustrating that it’s taking so long. Any idea idea what could be going on?

Have you done a "outside normal processing time" request? If not, do one of those. If so, ask a tier 2 rep to look into it.

Did they say they completed the background checks in July or just that they were started then? If it's the latter it's unfortunately reasonable to still be waiting for results.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

They said it was completed in July. I just completed a second request for case inquiry yesterday. When I called on Thursday they told me that tier 2 officers are no longer available to be transferred to and it takes a week to have one call back.

Amazing the transparency. I notice USCIS is pushing the public further and further away.

Ever since the contractor furlough (tier 1) in September, the phones and inquiries are also taken by those processing the folders without admin support. Tier 2 officers are doing everything and no wonder there are massive growth in processing times.

the whole system is effectively gridlocked.

I feel your frustration, especially that Nebraska seemingly manages its workload. Fingers crossed you get the noa2 soon.

We got no info since filing Potomac, priority date Nov 2019), until a phone call in June.

We are speechless as Potomac SC had jumped priority dates and get totally off the track in 2020, I130 processing times from 5-7 to 10-12, and just recently (with Sept update) to 19-24 months.
By now it’s impossible to get a hold of a human being. The online account doesn’t offer any info, they made it into a boilerplate (removed the profile update date, which was likely totally meaningless anyway but perhaps inferred someone looked at the case).
