My wife was granted an expedited interview at the Manila Embassy almost 1 month ago.

Anyone have any constructive or positive clue about when we should expect an interview?

NVC and Embassy not replying in a timely manner.

At manila.  The email said the embassy will schedule the interview soon.  That's all. We have no instruction about medicals, no clue about a timeframe

Contacting NVC is pointless as they are done with you.   The process has been to get everything ready including medical.   Once complete you email them requesting the interview appointment.

YMMV

So does she get an email from the embassy in instruction for the medical or just show up at st Luke's?

If you wait for the consulate you will wait a long time.  St. Lukes might still be walk in.  You need to double check on their website to check if they have returned to appointment based.

It looks like St Lukes has gone back to scheduled appointments again which must be just recently.  Also, on November 3rd, SLEC will start doing medicals for about 6-8 other countries which may be the reason they have gone back to the appointment system.

For you guys that need to do your medicals, I would book it now.  The required documents are laid out in the SLEC website.

We were approved for an expedite interview but from date of email notification to date of interview (December 3rd) is about 6 weeks.

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."

You can do the medical without an interview. Email the embassy when it's done. If you don't do this, you may wait another month without a word from USEM. If you pass the medical and email them, I've seen people get an interview date within 1-4 weeks.

  • 3 weeks later...

I was approved for a expedite in the middle of September. I never heard from the embassy. My wife did her medical and got flagged for an unclear x-ray. We have to wait until December to find out the results. I emailed the embassy because they never contacted us. It had been 6 weeks since they approved the expedite.

expedite - make (an action or process) happen sooner or be accomplished more quickly.

The embassy does not know what this means. I contacted the embassy right before Halloween to have them schedule us an interview. Thousands of people get an email from the embassy stating their interview is confirmed, and they now need to go do their medical.

I told them we are just waiting on our results, and I'd like to have an interview right after SLEC updates us in Dec.

The embassy said, "Your medical eligibility is currently pending. Please be aware that we are unable to schedule the applicant for an interview without a valid medical report from St. Luke's Extension Clinic in Manila."

What?! You schedule thousands of interviews BEFORE a valid medical report is even issued.

I asked for clarification. They said:

"We are unable to schedule the applicant for an interview without a valid medical report from St. Luke's Extension Clinic in Manila.  The volume of priority cases (i.e. including the immediate families of  U.S. citizen petitioners) preclude us to guarantee an immediate appointment for the applicants."

Ok. I'll just wait until after SLEC updates us in Dec.

Last week, they sent me an interview appointment for late Dec.

Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne must be working at the US embassy.
