My wife’s Philippine passport expires January 2021. For 6 months I tried numerous times to schedule a renewal appointment on the Philippine consulate in Los Angeles‘ website but it seems they are always booked up. Some people were commenting on Facebook that they are booked up until 2023!
She is a US conditional resident and does not need to travel on an emergency document and/or try to get a renewal in the Philippines. Does anyone out there have further information about this situation or a remedy for this problem?

Yikes- I'd keep trying.  Maybe they will do an outreach event out near you.    If she doesn't think she will travel and is intended to do citizenship then she can wait.  That does really limit her options.   I know in the past it was easier to get a passport appointment when also doing a report of marriage.

Embassy has not opened appointments past December 2020.   They will post an announcement when 2021 appointments are opened.   (there is more info on their website)

While less convenient,  you can renew at any consulate.  LA isn't your only option

YMMV

Well it is either SF or LA for them that is it.

Beg to differ.   There is no territorial restriction like a ROM filing.  There was a member recently from northern Washington state that renewed in Vancouver

I'm guessing you missed the "LESS CONVENIENT"

On the other hand, when you need to get something done,  you might be surprised.  My wife and I flew to Palawan from Cebu because Puerto Princessa was about the only DFA office we could get an appointment for her passport because back then the "fixers" had all the appointments booked

We went through the same cluster during the fixer fiasco. Finally the boss found the right fixer after trying for weeks doing it the legit way))

Finally done...
