Given the shocking behavior in my thread yesterday I feel this is no longer an appropriate or friendly place for me to be, especially since this site is all about family immigration and my cowardly ** of a soon to be ex husband lied his way through our marriage and we're now divorcing.

So I'm not really interested in hanging out with a bunch of happy families, especially when they're rubbing salt in my open wounds.

To the people who were supportive, thank you.

I may visit occasionally but this will be my last post for a while.

I guess.. I suppose we all could bail out of VJ when our relationship goes south.

I thought about disabling my account since our denial and since my husband has asked for a divorce.

but, I am here maybe not for the " pour some salt on me treatment" but, maybe for a little healing.

sorry (F)

Oh honey, I'm so sorry (F)

I'm glad I didn't disable my account after my marriage to the Romanian fell apart and ended in divorce, hanging around here and helping out when I could was great therapy for me, I made friends here and I missed them all. I don't even read any of the forums except the General Discussion Area. All I can advise is, keep busy and don't forget your friends. When you're mind's occupied you're not sitting thinking about what went wrong. Let me know if you would like to talk about it. (L)

Shon, shon....girl had you posted this before? I'm sorry if I hadn't read this previously and missed a chance to put out a virtual hug to you and lend you an ear if you need it.

People, I think this situation with Shon is a really good example of how complex our VJ relationships can be. Shonnie is a good lady and we all know that. And I think a lot of us here could say we've seen her cranky and wound up - where she was misunderstood - and where she misunderstood us.

But we love her still. And she loves us back.

I'm pretty sure I speak for all of us when I say I'm grateful for all our VJ friends - this virtual yet very real community.

Hey guys just popped in. I read the invisible post:

you would know all about pouring salt in people's open wounds wouldn't you? Guess it takes one to know one.

I have to say this to everyone. If you were in Homesick's situation you would be very upset and only looking for support. This is a VERY hard position to be in and while they do want to post and get support they do not want people to put them down or make them feel worse. Is it fair that they only get good posts and not complaints? It is a public board yes? Well yes and yes I guess. I think that sometimes our compassion as people should prevail and if someone is sad we should bite our tongue and just let them grieve. If we have something supportive to say then great -- if not we should bite our tongues. This site is founded on supporting each other and I would think that above all we should remember that. Thank you for understanding :).

I did not see all the comments made (I admit that I am just getting up to speed). If anything was said that was way over the line PM me a link to the topic and the post #. I guess my post above is just "in general" and wanting people to remember the spirit of the site.

In general, I think that supporting each other in the good and bad times is a key value of the site :).

I tend to lurk here unless I've got anything useful to say.

I think the nature of the VJ community is that we're a lot of people under a LOT of pressure.

I said in previous posts that frustration with long distance relationships, and the fact that our futures seeming so fragile in the hands of US immigration, mean that anger sometimes boils over.

I don't think that there's any excuse for going out of your way to make someone else feel bad. Yeah HA can be a little outspoken. But as we're the only bunch of people who actually have any idea of the pressures involved in this process (hardly a day goes past at work without me wanting to tell someone that they in no way understand the situation I'm in and to shut their cake hole) we should instead go out of our way to be supportive to each other.

That is why this place exists.

On a slightly lighter note, if you've got anger... go here: http://www.khaaan.com

Edit: I'm not trying to say that I understand what HA is feeling in her situation. I'm talking about visa situations. Sorry for any confusion.
