i remember that before covid, some people were told at their interview that they were elegible for a waiver, and got their visas issued. you can check the embassy reviews for Nigeria to read about the experience people had after the travel ban. there is also this travel ban mega thread, maybe you can find useful information there

Yes I personally know a few that during February early March were approved and got their Visa. It can happen.

You are actually not alone my dear, I got married last year and all my documents got qualified May 22nd this year. . .  Since then, we have not heard from the Consulate in Lagos.  My wife is a U.S citizen. So far my wife she has been calling to know what's up. And I can tell you that you are right on track! 😊😊  Make you no fear abeg, once the Consulate reopens, they'll first start to attend to the backlogs of interview they have.

So, to calm your nerves. I advice all of us take our mind off interview for now,  because even when they commence,  they'll start with those whose appointments were cancelled or pending.

NOTE: The Ban does not affect IR1 or CR1.

(Even the Naija sef don tire me because I wan run! 😂😂  abeg no interpret am for anybody oh..).

Patience and prayers dear, just know that you are right on Track. I'm also CR1.

Wishing you all the best!

This is incorrect. There is a Travel ban for Nigeria (presidents Proclamation 9983) that started February 22nd, 2020 and yes it sure does effect IR1/CR1. You must overcome it to have the Ban waive and though I know a few who did overcome it many did not. It's a small percentage that get the Ban waived.

Below is the form given at interview whether Ban is waived or not.

You are completely wrong.  Why do you spread false hope to people from Nigeria?  Read it for yourself on the US government website.  https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/presidential-proclamation-archive/presidential-proclamation9645.html?wcmmode=disabled

I copied this directly from the US Government website:

For Nigeria: NO IMMIGRANT OR DIVERSITY VISAS, except for Special Immigrants whose eligibility is based on having provided assistance to the United States Government.

So, unless the beneficiary is eligible for having provided assistance to the US, they are banned.
