Hang on Steph it might be something very fixable....easily.........with Byron it was only a week or so........so have hope

I have a feeling they may ask for a copy of Darren's divorce papers. At the time of application we didn't have the official court documents, just a letter from the court. We have them now though. That is the only thing I can think of.

Fixable Steph......At least you are not in limbo..........I am sure this is just a little bump on the road......not the canyon you just experienced..........THINK POSITIVE......I KNOW IT IS HARD......BUT YOU CAN DO IT..........

I'm sorry. I am so self-absorbed right now. I should be more sensitive to the people that haven't heard anything yet. These things just make me nervous.

I suspect you are right Steph abou the the decree absolute. Do you have an original of the document? Cos the thing with the UK doc is that its so nondescript.

Just be prepared to overnight the RFE docs backs to VSC as soon as you get their request. Make sure on the outside of the envelope that you mark it "RFE" in RED letters. That helps it to get routed propery once it is received at VSC.

Did you get an RFE? Did it work fast for you?

No, I didn't get an RFE. I sent in originals of pretty much everything cos I didn't want to risk an RFE. It was worth the investment to get duplicate originals of all legal documentation. For me, I was meticulous about everything I submitted since we'd had to wait over a year to file while divorces were battled out in the courts.

However, I have research this sight for well over a year and have seen and heard just about everything! I'm not sure if they'll want an original Decree Absolute from you. The RFE will tell you for sure. To err on the side of caution, I'd have your fiance post an original to you. He can get a replacement for free for himself by calling the court - that's what my fiance did.

Timewise, like someone else pointed out - Lora I think - RFE turn around can be pretty swift, like Byron, or a long time like Mel & Syl. I hope yours won't take long! Those of you with RFEs having been waiting long enough!!!

Steph, get the original...better to take a few extra days to do this...than send a copy and have them STILL want the original. And as stated...make SURE to get signature with overnight AND mark the outside in RED RFE!!!! (LARGE) Include the original RFE letter ON TOP of the information you are returning and make copies for yourself. (Actually if he has to get ONE original..have him get THREE...one for YOU tokeep in case the one u send gets lost AND one for him for AT interview if its needed...trust me this can save butts)

For the emotional...what you let go into your head...comes back out. Think, hear, see ONLY positive things. Keep the future in sight Steph...Its not today that counts...its your future with your love...THATS what you want to stay focused on. Keep in there...stay strong...do NOT let negativity consume u. (poms poms are back out folks). Just know we are all here for you.melandsyl, Lora, Mirla...all of you waiting...Ric to.....

Mostly take time for YOU. Go visit friends and family, go to a spa and pamper yourself, get a pedicure...jsut take care of YOU.
