Can some one please tell me how to find out if the petition reached NVC?

You can call them and ask on 603-334-0700. Make sure you select the option to speak to an operator, K1s don't go into the automated system.

It's also best to do it either very early or very late. They open at 7.30am and close at midnight.

Gillian

I called and called the 0700 number earlier today without luck. So I dug around and found this number on the internet: 202-663-1225.

Call them and you'll be put on hold (don't worry it really is dead silence). I held for about 10 minutes and then was helped. They were so friendly... unlike those crazy VSC reps that have no answers. They told me not only had they received my application, but that it was in transit to the embassy as of Nov. 23! Horray!

Hope this helps!

:goofy:

Why was the first number no luck? They would not help you? Who is the 202 number for?

That # is for US State Department: (202) 663-1225 - press 1, 0. You can call them to see where your petiton is, and once its at the embassy they can alos let you know things like whether or not packet 3 was sent/received, if an interview is scheduled, etc.

I just tried to use the RFE trick for the first time and they said they couldn't access my petition.

... *very quietly freaks out*

.. what the heck does THAT mean!?

*sigh*

It means they can't help you. Sure they could look and maybe make something up to tell you, but they decided they would just not help you at all and add to your anxiety.

I really hope you hear something soon!

You're so right. I called them back and they basically said they'd get to it, when they got to it. (they said they work thru a crate and if its next then great, if its at the bottom well... not their fault). I figured that was at least honest, if extremely frustrating.

You took the words right out of my mouth. They have the same info as the NVC. The NVC number puts you only hold once for just a few minutes and then sends you back to a menu. When you choose the number you want again it kicks you out of the system if the system is full.

The US State Department number allows you to just remain on hold until someone responds.

The State Department is much better to answer our questions not unlike those morons at VSC. I could not get throuh the 603 number either.

The second answer you got sounds a lot closer to the truth. I hope your petiton is out of the crate and in the process of being adjudicated!

You know what really is bad? We are playing second fiddle to CSC now. They have 89 approvals for the month, and we only have 56! Hopefully VSC will pick up the pace a bit and match them. Maybe we should inform them that they are behind their sister center and maybe get a little friendly competition going

I hope ours comes soon. The waiting is getting to us. I have to wonder on that last approval. WHEN were they ACTUALLY approved? Is it possible there is a delay in putting approvals in? Unless their congressman got a call/email directly from USCIS as SOON as it was completed..I find it hard to believe the approval was completed this morning. So, questions are raising in my mind. Others have called and found out approvals by phone that never recieved the update online or an email. How many of us is this happening to? How often should I call to find out? And I can't keep calling to Vermont as RFE trick. I can only say, I think I have an RFE so many times. I KNOW my case HAS to be on someones desk. Has to be. But what is going on with it? Not knowing is killing me today. We need our noa2.... I keep looking at the extended wait on the OTHER end of the interview. while many here will go to interview and are in most cases able to come almost right away...we have an additional 5-8 months on the OTHER end or more..........:help: :help:

amrssnowangel,

be strong....I know what you mean when you mention "the other end of the interview".

I've seen that the embassy in Egypt is sometimes not the quickest one....

I just wanted to tell you that your posts are always so caring and encouraging for others...

so I just wanted to share two of my favorite quotes with you, of which I hope they'll encourage you, too:

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” Tolstoy

and

“The secret of patience is doing something else in the meanwhile”

(which I like a lot,too,....as it says that your life is not standing still while you are waiting for a special moment to happen.

Life is here and now, too, every moment is precious and shall be loved, appreciated and lived...until that very special moment you have been waiting for has finally come )

Be strong and keep the faith, like you have before....! (F)

I broke down and called the Vermont Service Center today. Spoke to the nice Information Officer (Nancy). She actually remembered me from talking before!! Anyways...the "create" with my petition is now on an officers desk for adjudication. Thank God. She said the name checks take a few days and that each create has 30 petitions in it. So If I estimate right about 2 days worth of work. So we SHOULD be hearing sometime this week if all is smooth about our petition. Im just glad there wasn't a problem with it. She also stated no one there got hershey's kisses of the officers. I did ask... I joked and said that if Mr Novaks waist looks a bit bigger...she knows where all those chocolates went to. Im sure someone there got them. Just not the information officers or adjudication officers. Anyhow...she said they have been slammed with work...I thanked her for being so polite and helpful. Just wanted to share.
