Congratualtions GVB (Katya & Geoff )!

They were #19 on the K1 list with 113 days from filing to NOA2.

That makes 2 K1 approvals for 8/29 and 4 for the week so far. Let's hope we see some more before the week ends. :)

I sure hope so mine is from may 9 and not even a touch. Those of u that got approved did any of you get it with out any touches?

Nope, every time I logged into USCIS they still had it dated as 5/17/2007 which is when they received it. I never got a single touch. I was freaking out because everyone else on here were always talking about touches. You've gotta be right in there with my batch. It could come at any moment, be ready!

I had one touch early on (same day I registered with USCIS website), and then I had another touch on the day I was approved; and last I had a touch on the day after I was approved.

2006 NOA2s issued by VSC to VJ members

January: 26

February: 40

March: 36

April: 30

May: 5

June: 2

July: 50

August: 67

September: 39

October: 44

November: 24

December: 31

Notice the BIG slowdown in May and June 2006. VSC had a reputation of turning out NOA2s in under 30 days, and they typically did this throughout 2006, with exception of the massive slowdown in May and June that you see there, during which time it seems likely that almost all the I-129f adjudicators were transfered to other work. Whatever other big workload it was eventually eased up, and a sufficient number of workers were again reassigned to I-129f duty in July. Shortly following were massive numbers of approvals very quickly (July/August '06 saw an incredible 13 VJ members approved per week [Mon-Fri]--This August [2007] it's been only a little over 3 approvals per week...), and the backlog cleared up quickly. By September 2006 NOA2s were typically going out in under 30 days once again.

The point is this: These occasional slow-downs (like the one we are in now) ARE historically precedented. And they are followed by floods of NOA2s :D

So be happy everyone, for the September (and October) tidal wave of NOA2s is near at hand! :D

2007 NOA2s issued by VSC to VJ members. Notice the same slowdown in June as last year.

Sorry, but I am fairly certain that the 2006 slowdown was caused by a one time event when the new IMBRA regulations came into effect and impacted petitions that had already been submitted.

Although it is pleasant to imagine that there is an army of adjudicators about to be unleashed on K1 petitions, I do not believe there is any evidence to substantiate the theory that the slowdown in 2006 was caused by ajudicators being "transferred to other work".

There are way too many variables and way too many unknowns for anyone outside of USCIS to predict with certainty what processing times will be over the next few months. Given that 2006 was impacted by IMBRA and in July of 2007 we had a major price increase and a reconfiguration of service centers, I think it is almost impossible to use 2006 processing times to predict what will happen moving forward in 2007.

Everyone has their theories, but the truth is no one outside of USCIS knows what is going to happen over the next couple of months. We all have to wait, hope for the best and see what happens.

Maybe all these theories could be right or could be wrong who knows. All I know is in May of 04 I filed and was approved in 22 days. So for me this is not normal because I guess I was spoiled. Now going on 4 months of waiting and knowing it will be at least 1 or 2 months after approval not to much will get me excited at this point The more I look the longer it takes I am now at the point of out of sight out of mine and the time goes much faster than watching the pot that never boils. My SO and I have decided to think of it as the past is gone and today is the very first time we filed and VSC only takes about 3 weeks to get approved like it was in May of 04. So now it’s like starting fresh and we are excited again knowing it will only take 3 weeks and we just started our Journey. So there isn’t any sense in thinking about anything else because it is what it is. Good luck to you all.

Huh, interesting. But you know, I prefer this. It's a tiny bit more accurate, I think, since before they would only update the date once every month, and so as we waited throughout the month it seemed like they were actually 7 months behind. Does that make sense?
