Also has anyone ran into a problem with being questioned on their bank transactions? This might sound like a weird question but let's say I am unemployed but receive money here and there from someone. Is that a problem that will be questioned?

Sorry I am quite new to this forum. I am the immigrant / beneficiary, currently waiting for NOA2 (Czech Republic).

That will be quite a lot of pages to translate for 12 months. Rip

Here is what @Luckycuds is requesting you do.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

What we did was make a copy of the first page of the bank statement that has the monthly opening balance and the monthly ending balance for 12 months. You yourself can indicate the USD equivalent on the page you will submit. I am not that familiar with the I-944, Declaration of Self-Sufficiency form so I recommend that you read the directions and review the I-944, Declaration of Self-Sufficiency for any clue as to what they are looking for. Most times the CO has already made up their minds to approve you and I doubt a bank statement is going to hold things up. Just my opinion.

Your bank account will not be submitted in the k1/I129F petition.

As the beneficiary, you will need it when you submit the I-944 form which is required as part of the AOS

Most embassies are asking for the I-944, Declaration of Self-Sufficiency at the interview. They will submit the DS-5540 Public Charge Questionnaire for AOS:thumbs:

Are they? I thought the I-944 is part of the AOS stage, not the K1 stage

Nope it's being used for the interview stage. There is not a requirement for AOS according to their checklist page for required documents. It does ask for the I-864, Affidavit of Support.

I'd be curious to learn from others who can share a source to enlighten me.

"Finally, realize that if you’re just beginning the fiance visa process, I-129F, or even the K-1 visa interview, you don’t need this form. This is only required after you get married and are ready to apply for permanent residency. "

Why would DOS use I-944 when DOS has said I-944 isn't as adequate for visa applicants when compared to DS-5540: "some aspects of the rule may deviate from the DHS approach due to the differing circumstances of visa applicants, who reside outside the United States and typically have not spent substantial time in the United States, as contrasted with applicants for USCIS-administered benefits, which applicants commonly are in the United States and have spent substantial time there." https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2019/10/11/2019-22399/visas-ineligibility-based-on-public-charge-grounds

Reminder that I-944 is a USCIS form and DS-5540 is a DOS form. Plus, DOS only mentions DS-5540 for IV interviews, not K-1 interviews: "You may be asked to present a completed DS-5540, Public Charge Questionnaire, and supporting evidence at the time of your interview." https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-10-prepare-for-the-interview.html

I'm only reporting what others have experience. There is a great many from many different embassies that this requirement is now stated in the P3 for required documents for their interview. But, I stand corrected that it is needed to file the I-485.
