If you are able to move (drastic, I know) that would be considered a life event and you can then enroll.

I'm guessing this would only apply to a move out of state? Maybe city? Regardless, it's not like I have offers lined up to go anywhere haha

Zip code.  The ACA defines "moving" as changing zip codes.

Sent in our I-130, I-485, I-131, and I-765 last week and was received last Friday. Now it seems like we should be expecting the I-944 RFE in the mail?

I need some advice. Both my wife and I do not have health insurance. Yes I know, it's not good to not have health insurance, especially in the current pandemic. However, that is the current situation. Moving on, if we do receive the RFE, I would need to get health insurance. Would it be okay to show a short-term health insurance plan till November or December and attach a letter stating we plan to enroll in Marketplace insurance when it opens (or when my employer's health insurance eligibility period opens)?

I have posted similar topic before but did not receive helpful input and then I was at peace due to the I-944 being put on hold. Guess that peace was short-lived 😅

I am unsure if you qualify for a short term health insurance plan; have you looked over the requirements? Luckily open enrollment opens Nov 1 so if you receive a RFE you should be able to enroll and submit the RFE within the time frame allowed.

Yes, they're private plans - terrible for value but I would basically be getting them to show USCIS that I have something.

I would prefer not to wait till Nov 1 if I get the RFE within the next 2 weeks. Or is that the realistic timeframe?

I don't think you will receive the RFE (if you do) that soon but it is a possibility. I also can't answer with certainty if the short term health plan would suffice (it's better than nothing of course in my opinion) The instructions don't specify either way https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-944instr-pc.pdf I think the best would be to enroll during open enrollment so fingers crossed that can work out for you. I imagine you reviewed the form https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-944-pc.pdf Sorry I can't help better
