How many times do they have to "touch" our applications before they finally decide to approve them???!!! I filed my I-130 in March, both my I-130 & I-129 were touched on 7/20 but still no approvals. I'm getting really tired of this waiting. I'm heading back to England to visit my husband for the 3rd time this year. I was hoping that I'd be heading there to be with him for his interview soon, but I guess not. We've tried to arrange my visits to England every 3 months, it's expensive and emotionally draining to keep that up. But, I am glad I can visit him. I'm sure there are many of you that can't see your spouses and I feel for you.

Let's keep praying and with positive thoughts & energy this will all work out in our favor.

I-130

10/12/07 APPROVED!!! (My birthday gift)

4/8/08 NVC Case Complete!

INTERVIEW MAY 16 8:30AM LONDON

5/21/08 I-601 waiver received in London

6/9/08 Appeared on the "Status of I-601 Applications" list (they said "up to 15 weeks")

11/10/08 Moved up to "Under Review" after 21 weeks

11/19/08 Case Completed - Denied

8/5/09 Moved to England to join my husband and wait out his 10 yr. ban and reapply.

Yes it would be really nice to get approvals this week ( and I do my share of daily praying ) but as Almoto is finding out with having a touch a week or 2 ago the USCIS is totally unpredictable. It's been a great week for some of us that have been waiting a long time, and we can only hope it continues. I too am very lucky to be able to visit my wife in 3 weeks, but flying 18 hours at a shot every few months can be draining and expensive.

nothing since April either :crying: All you that have "touched" does it show that when you log in to the USCIS website.... all it told me is the day they got it... is there a way to see more or should I assume it hasn't been touched yet?

Hey Kristi...

To find out if your case has been recently "touched" or not, log into your USCIS online status portfolio and look at the date under the column "Last Updated". If that shows some recent date (or a different date than the one you same last time when u logged in), then that means your case is/was "touched" recently. Touch usually means that USCIS is working on your case to do something. It could be anything as in working on getting your approval(NOA2), God forbid but issuing RFE or any other internal USCIS transfer stuff/update. Though usually is the case, getting a touch doesn't necessarily mean that your NOA2 is on the way but again if your case gets "touch" after long period of any inactivity then usually thats a good sign. Usually this means that USCIS is making some kind of progress in your case. My suggestion to you would be, yes, do keep track of the "touches" on your case but dont read TOOO much into it. Your NOA2 will come when it comes.

One little side note, if you 'd like to receive a case update automated email on your petition(s) then please make sure you have "Y" under "Email" column. "Y" just means you have turned on the option to receive an email when USCIS updates your case. But please dont confuse the "update" with a "touch" only. A touch WILL NOT (as far as I know) generate the automated email but an "update" (like case transfer from one USCIS service center to another or USCIS approving your case..etc) on your case WILL send an email to you on your email account.

Hope this helps. Sorry for a wordy post but I have seen on many occasions that this does seem to confure other VJ members too, so I thought a wordy but detailed post will help. Please let me know if anything is unclear or if someone would like to add to this then please feel free to do so or correct me if I have misstated anything by mistake.

Have a good one and good luck to all.

Regards,

Pkewl

Congratulations Zlau, Very happy for you.

No, you don't have to wait for I129 to get approved, they both proceed on their own, I130 being a Green card, there is further process for it at the VSC before it gets to embassy, this takes time and sometimes I129 might catch up, if they catch up at the embassy its better to go with I130 because its a better Visa. If I129 gets approved while your I130 is still at VSC depending on how far along in I130 process you are at, I129 gets to embassy much faster and its up to you guys to decide which visa to go with at that point.

Good luck
