The president tweeted to say it was disrespectful to kneel during the national anthem, as Colin Kaepernick and other players began doing in 2016 to protest racial injustice. N.F.L. Commissioner Roger Goodell then said the league supported players peacefully protesting.

Isn’t Colin Kaepernick a communist that hates the US more due to its limited capitalist economy than anything else?  The NFL is a private business, they can do what they want, customers of the NFL will make their own choices regardless of what President Trump, Roger Goodell, or anyone says or does.

You see the effort to infiltrate every organization possible and cause chaos. If the NFL does the route of spinelessness and bends the knee to these extremist movements, they're done. I certainly won't watch if they allow it to infect their league. We owe no allegiance to sports entertainment.

The NFL does enjoy antitrust exemptions and benefits from public financing of stadiums and infrastructure, so it is not merely a private business.  Take away those props the equation changes.

 

Goodell is struggling to stay afloat with the sudden shift in public opinion. Last year it appeared that appealing to white mainstream Americans was the best play. Now  white Americans have shifted their perspective. In the end, you are right, it's about money, it's a business.

Possibly, but in the end, it doesn’t really matter why the players are protesting, it matters how their customers perceive it.  Unless the various governments that provide funding, etc., I would predict a noticeable drop in NFL revenue this year if they play at all.
