Delaying Interview etc.

Hi,

I am looking to submit my I-130 form within the next two weeks or so, with the end goal of obtaining an IR1 visa, and moving to the states from the UK at the very end of 2021. If things were to move quicker than anticipated, how straight forward is it to delay the interview, medical etc. so that we can move then? Recognising that we must move within six months of visa being granted (or is it from the time of the medical?). Any advise appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith

You can slow things at NVC because uploading documents is done by you at your pace.. but I wouldn’t recommend taking it too slowly, NVC take around 9 weeks to review your submitting and are notorious for rejecting documents resulting in an additional 9 week wait for them to look at it a second time..

i think if you applied now, your timing would be pretty good.. don’t forget, after NVC you have to do your medical and interview.. if the visa is then issued.. you’ve got 6 months from the date of the medical to enter the country so.. giving you plenty of time without purposely trying to slow things up.
