This topic is relevant to all the people who want to know more about what information the government holds about them in their A-files. If your post does not contribute constructively to this thread, then I am asking the moderators to remove it.

Everything the government knows about you is in your A file... from applications through all docs submitted/correspondence/interviews/background checks, etc. I thought that was common knowledge. The massive resulting size of physical A files is one of the incentives to move to electronic records.

Some historical info on A files

HI,

I made a FOIA request of my A-file and it arrived 2 months later.

I don't understand what does "LHM result" and the "disposition" mean in the FBI name check section.

I also do not understand why they have 3 pages under "Risk and Fraud", I do not have any arrests or traffic violations or any trouble with the law whatsoever. Is this standard?

Just curios, how long did it take to get a response to your FOIA request?

LOL Second line on his post.   2 months.

I do them from time to time - 2 to 3 months is typical for cases in the last 5 years.   I did one for my paternal grandmother who crossed from Mexico in the 1920's.  It took 7 months to get it and didn't have what m dad was looking for.
