My husband (the owner of this profile) has applied for employment authorization and adjustment of status. While still waiting, he ended up in the emergency. We opted to be self-pay since we have some savings and healthcare is not provided currently by my job.  However, we would like to get him some health insurance if possible. Does anyone have experience getting health insurance while waiting for adjustment of status when it is more than 60 days past your marriage? What are our best options to meet this need and also avoid the need for a co-sponsor?

Very much State dependent, best bet is to contact a local Insurance Broker. Generally there are usually a few options but for limited cover.

The exchanges in some states have enacted special enrollment periods due to COVID-19. You can try that.

I bought short term insurance after I've go my SSN. It is basically an emergency/accident insurance . It didn't cover Rx or regular doctor visit, but had coverage for hospitalization and surgery. It was on a monthly basis and I think the cap was a year for that insurance, but I think the agent said that I could renew it after a year too.
