- So I'm soon coming up with anniversaries, 2 years from filing and 1 year from the interview. Hurray !

If you have the money, suing USCIS might be a good idea at this point. It's so frustrating that it comes to that or just keep waiting. Did you try the FOIA request? You're basically just waiting for the oath right?

Submitted another "out of normal time" service request two days ago and this morning got an email promising to send an interview notice within 30 days. Something about scheduling  of the interview not yet done. And by the way, bring the notice with you to the interview! And l'm like, f, where's the notice? What you waiting for if you already know you are going to send it? Bizarro!

Suing the USCIS? What is your experience with this? Do you know of cases where that worked out OK?

There was a guy in the ROC forum who also had a pending N-400 and he sued USCIS and as soon as he did that, his case was basically approved. It costs thousands of dollars because you have to hire a lawyer but apparently it works.

Yea, it is beyond frustrating. Haven't tried the FOIA yet, I'll get that going right away.

I'm waiting for their decision - based on the interview everything is fine, and assuming the RFE response is sufficient it should only be the oath then. Unless they come up with something else.

Hey all

With all this talk about filing an FOIA to trigger USCIS to retrieve our A-files, does anyone know what are the contents of this A-file?

I read before that it’s between 140-260 pages.

N400 should be about 20 pages

then what else? Green card application? Bios?

Does anyone know what’s in it?

Per ,my understanding, its the entire immigration/non-immigration/Alien history, from first visa to the last, even if there was a break in between like when people visit US, and then go back and then get a different or another visa and come back. Anything filled with USCIS gets stored in A-File aka Alien File.

There is no guarantee it will speed up to your case, it is a hit or miss but

Right every-time you sue them (as long as there is nothing pending on you), it will be approved automatically. It is cheaper and easier for USCIS to approve or resume working on your case than for them paying to fight you in court. Just have $3-4k minimum if you decide to go this route or keep on waiting like everyone else here. Good luck.

I filed FOIA last week. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My status changed to my case being actively reviewed at this time. I also went from the nondescript "It's taking longer than anticipated" to 11 months. Still quiet some time BUT at least it's a time frame to reference.
