I just got a response from the senator's office and they said:

 

"Thank you for your inquiry regarding this constituent’s immigration matter. Our review indicates that this case is within USCIS's current processing time. Processing time information can be found on our website on the USCIS Processing Time Information page. For employment-based or family-based Forms I-485, Forms N-400, or Forms N-600, please check processing times for the local field office. Once further action is taken, a notice will be sent to the address of record."

 

So, a big load of nothing again. I except no updates at this point. Case inquiry time to open an official inquiry at the local office here is October 9, 2019 as of today.

Seriously they didn't even contact USCIS, they just read the same incorrect numbers we can read ourselves on USCIS' website. 😤

Yeah, it's really annoying. I'm just going to keep emailing them and bothering them via the inbox and I will probably have my husband call them tomorrow again.

@millefleur I agree! Keep calling them. I got another call from a USCIS Officer (my second call from USCIS in two weeks) this morning. She was calling to follow up with one of my service requests to their Contact Center. (I'd been calling them constantly, and they'd raised a number of service requests for me.)  I told her that her colleague had already called and fixed my biometrics appointment for February 22, the letter had already been uploaded to my USCIS account, and I'd already received it in the mail. Once she confirmed that everything was in order, she wished me a nice day and ended the call. Afterwards, I received an email from USCIS confirming that they had contacted me today, etc. 

Keep pushing, something's gotta give! 💯

That is interesting, how does one raise a service request? The methods I've tried so far are sending messages via the inbox on myuscis and also tried the e-Request method (https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/Intro.do) when they failed to confirm that my case had been moved to the new field office (after moving to a new state.)

 

I would have assumed that moving from one state to another would be the reason for delay in my case, but I've seen many other VJ'ers who filed during Covid, moved states, and have already had biometrics interviews scheduled, so that cannot be it. The fact that me and at least 2 other VJ's at the Chicago office are still waiting for biometrics means it's something specific to the Chicago office and that for whatever reason, our cases are frozen there despite others moving quickly.

Interview today. Approved. We were told oath ceremony will be in about 3 weeks. 10 year green card also issued today.....haha. Classic.

FYI if you applied a long time ago and have heard nothing back you need to contact them. I filed April 2020 and I emailed them 5 days ago asking to schedule biometrics and within 2 days they told me they would re-using prior biometrics (no fee refund!) and the interview should follow after that. Had I not followed up, they would have moved to the next step who knows when, probably in the summer

I've been writing them in the inbox, still waiting on another response. Was inbox also the contact method you used?

Yes, I'm on my 3rd inbox message now. So far, 2 generic replies with no real answer. My husband called once, and that was also no help. We contacted one senator here, also got a generic reply ("your case is still within processing time.") Waiting for reply to 3rd inbox message, planning to call USCIS again and write other senator and representative this week.

I have the same experience. Messaged them via the online account and received my biometrics appointment a couple of weeks later. After the bio appintment it only took 4 days for my interview to be scheduled. Makes me think I could've waited for a much, much longer time if I hadn't bugged them about it. So for me ut worked out as well.

 

Unfortunately not everyone has the same luck, I know millefleur has tried everything possible this far. I guess the only thing left is the Ombudsman, question is if that even helps if the website says they're still within normal processing times.. 🤷‍♀️

What exactly is the ombudsman? I've searched in my area and all I see is stuff relating to long term care/senior care. I have no idea where I would find the one relating to immigration.

Never had to contact them myself so I can unfortunately not tell you anything about that. You can read more here:
