I wish they would be consistent.........would be nice to get the same answer from anyone we contact on the reopening/rescheduling!  That tells me we need to keep careful watch on that website:  it still could be end of September, unless we hear something official, imho.

Yes this is the problem, it is not anyone official answering these emails who can give answers. It is just secretaries doing what they are told to do/say.

For what it’s worth:  I just read on Facebook, a post from the embassy in Cairo.  Someone asked them when will the embassy open again for visas, etc.  Their answer was: “All consular services have been suspended worldwide and we do not know when Washington will allow us to resume.  That includes all visa interviews.  When we are able to resume services, we will announce that on our website and social media.“

Yes, I've seen that.  But we all know that is not the case...interviews are currently taking place in other countries.  So what do??

This is old information. The DOS lifted the embassy closure order on June 14. Now it’s up to each embassy to decide when they can reopen according to local conditions.

It might be old information as it relates to June 14th.  But the Cairo Embassy literally said that maybe two or three weeks ago.  The question here is why is the Cairo Embassy not beginning to open.  It's not the Covid situation.

Yes that’s my big problem with them, why are they so secretive. They aren’t the only embassy either, British, Australian, Czech, Italian, Germany and so on are all closed in Egypt -  I asked other expats in a Facebook group on June 16 whose embassies were still closed
