NOA1

Hi,
Is it normal that after 2 weeks of USCIS receiving our petition, we still haven't gotten NOA1? The check hasn't been cashed either.
We called them, they confirmed they got it but they don't give any other information just to call again next week.

Your panic is understandable...but do you have any idea whats happening in the world now?....they are presently working at most 20% capacity....your check will be cashed you can bet on that...and you will get your NOA1 ASAP

I have a pretty good idea what's happening with the world because I'm volunteering at the hospital. I'm panicking because we re-submitted the application due to an error and I'm scared they'll send it back again that's why. Others got NOA1 and they mailed it after us.

Can I share somethings with you that I learned long ago about this process

 

• "the man with the gold makes the rules" and
• it will take as long as it will take 
• no one with any certainty can tell you when some process will be completed
• Your sense of urgency will never be equaled to what USCIS, NVC or your embassy demonstrates
• Your journey is not going to mirror someone else's experience - yours and theirs are not the same
• Lowering your expectations will make you a much more relaxed individual

USCIS always want you to give them 30 days before calling them. Within those 30 days you will have received your NOA1 or the package back in your mailbox. The 30 day "rule" hasn't changed afaik, even during Corona.
