If you file a valid extension, I believe they can still use the prior year return. YMMV

Just as a note, the filing deadline did not change yet. They just adjusted the time period and rules for when they start penalties for failure to file and failure to pay. Technically the returns, as of today, are still due on the same date. As such, that is what I would expect IOs and COs to go by still.

UGH, this has honestly been the most difficult process we've ever bene through and it's not our first or even second time becoming residents in another country. It's looking like I will be unable to sponsor my wife when we do receive a new appointment, as I can't file my taxes until the IRS releases a new form for USC in my situation (owning majority stake in foreign company). One government organization is unlikely to approve us because another government organization hasn't released the info needed to fulfill what the first gov agency wants. Nightmare.

This is looking like we are going to have to push our visa interview back potentially until the end of the year. In the case of not being able to attend an interview until 6 months after we did the medical exam which started this whole topic (February 24), I'm assuming we would have to do the medical again.

If my wife attended the medical and gave the same answers as she did the last time, has remained sober ever since then and submits a clean drug test, is there a chance the previous medical exam is thrown out in favor of the new one? If so, there may be a silver lining in all this for us.

I understand that this is such an odd situation to begin with, made more complicated by the uncertainty of the coronavirus, and that this may be a difficult question to answer.

Hi everyone,

I just had my medical exam earlier and I admitted that I had used marijuana in the past. The doctor told me that it wouldn't affect my visa so much as I don't use it as often and she determined me as non frequent user and a non abuser (No Class). However, the medical report will still indicate that I had used marijuana before. Will it still affect my visa processing?

What should I do if I'm denied for my K1 visa? I'm preparing for the worst...

If it isn't approved, you are typically put in a monitoring program for a year with a new medical.  I'm not familiar with how consulate officers do things in Malaysia but in Mexico they take into consider how recent the use was and if it is habitual.

It sounds like it shouldn't be an issue.
