I fly direct from Honolulu tomorrow. Thankfully no problem. I already pre-checked.

Ya you do have an edge living in Hawaii.   I do miss Hawaii Airlines flying to the Philippines from the mainland..

Delta has flights through Seoul.  I'm going over in April and I'm just hoping we don't have the same situation by then.

Headed there in April myself. Manila to Legazpi then ending up in Libon.

Small world!  Her Mom lives in Bato.  I've been there several times.  It's a beautiful area!

Yes, just a little North.

I hope this Corona ####### is calmed down by then. And more airlines are do not stop travel.

By the way, I'm in Alabama, just South of Bham.

Yes, me too.

Nice!  Not to far apart.  There isn't a very large Filipino population in Panama City so I moved down to Orlando last fall.  I need to update the profile.  We wanted the kids (14 & 15) to be able to assimilate as easily as possible.

Good luck on the interview!!!

Late to reply. I just got back. I really miss Hawaiian Airlines too but honestly their service has really gotten bad lately so I enjoy flying Philippine Airlines now. Their planes are much better now that the first time I flew with them and now I fly Premium Economy which is well worth the extra money. Better food, bigger screen, larger seats, priority check in, priority bags, heavier bags allowed.

BUT, cheaper to fly from continental U.S. than Hawaii to Philippines.

Sorry but that's just not true. I just checked now from LAX and from HNL and HNL was about $200 cheaper.

I have a PAL flight booked from LAX to Cebu on May 26th, it's a non stop flight, I'm really hoping it's NOT cancelled!

we also booked a direct flight using PAL, from manila to nyc, for next week though. i think PAL is the best option now to avoid complications. well worth the extra $100-200 it would cost for a 1-stop ticket

hoping this virus stuff calms down

Agree 100%.. I for one would never book a overseas flight if it wasn't non stop, the money you save is NOT worth the inconvenience, the waiting, disembarking/boarding and worrying over whether your luggage was transferred to the right plane... No thanks, I'll gladly pay a couple hundred more.
