February 5th 2020 and still waiting

Case was in Potomac sc then has been transferred to the Brooklyn field  office in New-York even though were a going through a consular process (beneficiary living abroad and petitioner is USC)

We received a RFE August 2020 which we replied to o September 9th 2020. Since then our case "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS". It's more than one year now and still no change.

Who else is still waiting?

The "rule" after RFE response is submitted is 60 days.

Did you try contacting them to raise an inquiry about that?

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

Yes we did. They sent us a notice that they received the evidences. and they updated the status as 'Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS".

We talked whith both a Tiers 1 and a tiers 2 officers in July 2021 and they were surprised as well and  said they were not seeing any apparent issue on what our case is still pending and they sent an inquiry. But meanwhile our case is still pending. This is beyond frustrating and becoming ridiculous. Plus we just found out beneficiary is pregnant.

We wrote to Ombudsman and Congressman for help.

I'm so sorry you guys have to go through all this.

This process is for sure not fair at all, but it is what it is

Hang in there, your day is coming

Sorry to hear that.

CIS ombudsman came back to us after 3 weeks,just to tell us that are also still waiting to hear back from USCIS and that they'll keep us updated.

Congressman just also sent us the confirm that their office is reaching out to USCIS on our behalf.

I hope you guys will have an answer, let's me know if that happens and good luck.

Sorry that you're going through this, too.

It took 4 months for the CIS ombudsman to respond to our requests and they said that they have contacted the USCIS about our case but they still don't have an answer from them, and that they can't 'make ' them answer... I don't know what to do, I am now going to contact the Congressman's office for help, too.

Good luck to you guys, hope you have progress soon.

That is great news! Happy for you guys 😊

I am definitely going to write to the Congressman's office. But is there some kind of form or do I have to write a formal letter?

Thanks!

At first my husband (the petitioner) wrote a formal letter. Introducing himself, giving all the informations about our case.

The office came back to us around 5 weeks later. They provide us with 2 documents (privacy release authorization) to complete and to signed.(both of us).
