I went and got a learners permit at the cape coral dmv on Monday with no problem at all.  Just make sure that you’ve got a piece of mail from two different places as evidence of residence and your EAD. I dont know what you need to do to get a full license might be worth a phone to ask.

good stuff yeah EAD is on the website as suitable ID, but I think you might be able to get it before that.

To get the full license - from the Florida DMV website "To obtain a Class E driver license, customers must pass the  Class E Driving Skills Test which consists of a series of maneuvers, listed below,  used to determine an applicants ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. To qualify for a driver license, customers must hold their learner’s license for one year (12 months) from the issuance date or must be 18 years old."

Did you do the eye test and the theory test to get the learner permit ? I already did the drug / alcohol test online, not 100% sure if i needed it but nice to have.

I did the eye test, which was just reading small letters, the theory test, which was pretty simple and the drugs and alcohol test which was annoying.  If you held a license else where they seem to let skip the drugs and alcohol test but if you’ve already done it then you’re all sorted

Sounds about right. Since I filed a month before you and we go for our interview in 5 days. So they are really running about 5 months, not the 9-24 like they say on the website.

I will guesstimate around May for your interview. Two of us on this forum, have been called for interviews around 5 months from when we filed for AOS

Just got done. The interview was maybe 10-15 minutes. Asked to see our rings, new photos, K1 Visa and her AP/EAD card and joint bank accounts. He also asked if she has health insurance. We provided him copies of proof of insurance, proof that she is my beneficiary on my 401k and tax returns (he didn’t ask for any of that though). He asked me if I knew her parents names and occupations and how we met. All they asked her was the yes and no questions on the AOS form, such as drug trafficking and terrorism. Also said wow you speak English lol

our case has changed to case under review.

Our status just changed to card is being produced. So for us, it only took 8 days after our interview was completed for ya to get approved for my wife’s green card.
