Got my biometrics done in November and about a month later it says im ready to be scheduled for an interview.  Tracking on Fort Myers field office says between 9-24months wait time 😭.

I can’t see many recent posts from people waiting on AOS from Fort Myers.  Is anyone else waiting or has been through Fort Myers?  Is it more likely to wait 9 months or closer to 24?  It’d also be good to hear from other people waiting so we can keep an eye on each others cases.  Im getting so bored waiting but hopefully my EAD/AP should be adjudicated upon in less than a month.

What does everyone else do to pass their time?

Oh but to answer your questions pay no attention to their wait time. We filed the AOS In September and my wife got her EAD/AP in December. We have been called up for interview on February 18. 9-24 months🙄

Oh and we live in Naples, but the Fort Myers office was not available on this website. So we picked Miami as our local office.

Wow that’s very comforting and that is incredibly fast!  Hopefully I won’t be too much longer then because we applied in October!  I had my Field office set as Tampa for ages, i didn’t realise that Fort Myers had an office till I searched it up 😂! Im up in Cape Coral so nice and handy!

Hope all goes well with your interview, really not long to go! Let me know how it goes!

Your local field office is based on your zip code and it might not be the closest one to you.

You can input it here in the top box and press search.

https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices

You don't get to pick though.

Unsure of if that's what a few of the posters above are thinking by the language being used....

I was stating that this visa journey website does not have the option to pick the Fort Myers office as an AOS local office option, which I always knew was my local office. So to him, Tampa is closer and to me Miami is closer. That’s what we meant by picking. I wasn’t sure when I did my time line if I could leave the local office blank. I apologize if my answer confused anybody by using the word picking.

Good to hear from Fort Myers AOSers!  Yeah I’m not holding my breath about how long it’s going to take.  I really just hope it happens soon.  You should probably hear about your biometrics appointment soon though, if you haven’t already.  Keep us up to date on your progress, it always helps keep my spirits up!

We were prepared for a long wait too because I also read that article, but we filed in September and we are being called in for an interview for February 18. We were shocked. She got her EAD/AP card in December. So far our wait times have been way off, from the estimates on the USCIS website, but no complaints here.

My AP/EAD has been approved, how long did it take you to actually get the physical card?  Also were you able to get a FL license with the EAD?

You should be able to -

https://www.dmvflorida.org/drivers-license/drivers-license-identification

Says you can apply with a i-766 with ss number and 2 proofs of residential address.

Yes, you can. My card took a week but it was during the holidays. We haven’t gotten her Florida ID card yet because we are waiting on the social card with her new married name on it first.
