Hello Everybody,one of my friend needs help: 

 

Her NVC docs are ready to upload on CEAC, but she have not received 2019 W2 yet.She only has Paystubs for 2019. She is now confused between 2 options.

 

1. Should she wait for the recent w2,then file taxes and upload the tax papers of 2019(it would take her 1 month at least).

 

OR

 

2. Should she upload the tax papers for the year 2018, AND 2019 Paystubs?(By this, she can expedite the process and take the latest tax papers till the interview date)

 

NB: She meets minimum income requirement for CR1 for both years.

2018 is fine as that’s still the most recent tax year until April 15 2020

Our CR1 Journey:

 

USCIS Stage:

  • Feb 14 2019: NOA1 (NSC)
  • July 31 2019: I129f NOA1
  • Sep 19 2019: I129f NOA2 (Denied - 50 days from NOA1)
  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

 

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

 

Interview Stage:

  • Mar 11 2020: Interview letter received
  • Apr 1 2020: Interview date
  • Mar 17 2020: Interview cancelled due to COVID-19
  • August 3 2020: Rescheduled letter received, new appointment August 25 2020
  • August 25 2020: Visa approved at interview! (558 days from NOA1)
  • September 10 2020: Embassy received passport in mail
  • September 15 2020: Passport with visa in hand

 

October 11 2020: Arrived in US!

Thanks for this. I was also having the same opinion, I just wanted to confirm for her.

Should she upload the 2019 paystubs as well?

She will want to upload a few of her most recent pay stubs

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Don't confuse information from tax returns with current income.  There is no question about 2019 income on the affidavit.  Current income is what she is making now.  If she lost her job yesterday, she has zero current income.  If she got a raise yesterday her income is her new salary, regardless of what she made in 2019.

Not yet.   Yes you can upload it if you want to.   Be prepared to take a transcript to the interview would be my advice.
