That's awesome! Congratulations! How long did you wait to get a schedule for the medical and interview?

Interview notification came on March 12 (interview date and time were set for April 7 10am), and my mom scheduled her medical for March 23. She had to get some follow up vaccines, an x-ray, and blood/urine tests she got done in the same week and sent to the doctor’s office.

My mom had her interview this morning, and everything went great! She said she got asked some biographical questions (where I work, where I live), as well as some questions about her past history in the US (she had studied and worked on an H1B here in the past). She brought all the documents in the interview checklist and was asked to show them (example checklist from our embassy here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/ASN-Asuncion.html), including a copy of my naturalization certificate. I also gave her our 2020 tax returns just in case, which were not uploaded/sent to NVC.

Her medical was forwarded directly from the civil surgeon to the embassy, so she didn’t have to have that packet with her. In fact she didn’t even need the passport photos for the medical exam, they just took a cell phone photo at the checkup 😂

They expect to return her passport via courier in the next week or so.

Congratulations!!! Hopefully all our parents will have their interviews before the end of this year.

Congratulations!!! NVC messed up our papers and had us in a limbo since October of last year. So I just got DQ last month. Hoping for an interview soon. So happy for you.

Hi. I did not include any passport photos. If you are filing online, it will tell you what documents you need to submit. :)

Hi, can I pm you for docs that you submitted? Thanks

Hi Everyone:

My mom also had her interview this morning in Colombo, Sri Lanka and it was approved. :) yay. The officer didn't ask many questions. He asked about my dad and if he is accompanying her to which she answered that we are still waiting for his interview date. Other than that it was an In- and Out interview.  :)

Hi All,

Is this the right place to ask about IR5 interview timelines for the London Embassy?

My parents are both on the IR5 track and were DQ'd Nov 6th 2020 - anyone similar timeline or know where that puts them in estimated interview month in 2021?

I know it's all a bit unknown with the limited appointments but are IR5 interviews still happening?

Hello,

From what I've seen, there are quite few parents that are still waiting for their interview to be scheduled since June 2020. It's very saddening that it's taking forever for the whole process.

Hi. I've been waiting for an IR5 interview at London since being DQ'd on June 8, 2020. I've seen a handful of IR5 interviews scheduled for VisaJourney members in other countries but not any indication of when the London embassy might start IR5s.

Here's my very basic timeline.

I-130 sent to USCIS - January 14, 2019

I-130 approved - April 25, 2019

Notice of case received by NVC - January 3, 2020

Fees paid - January 8, 2020

Documents accepted - March 5, 2020

DQ'd - June 8, 2020

Ugh - yes that's what i'm hearing - London has almost no movement on IR5 - really looks like it's going to be 2022 for my parents (Nov 2020 DQ) if some of you are still waiting on one from June 2020 DQ..... Here's hoping the UK-USA travel opens up this summer and they can come on a travel visa for a few weeks as if the interview is gonna be 6 months out they may as well!

That's what I'm hoping for. At least to have a visit over the summer - I haven't seen my son and daughter for over 18 months now. Good luck to you and your parents. I'll let you know when I finally hear from the embassy,
