My fiance, had his interview,and then they told him they need it more time,to review the case and 2 weeks after i receive a letter requesting  to send his current valid passport...but it doesn't  say,if his visa was approved or denied.? HAD A ANYONE BEEN IN THIS SITUATION? WHY WOULD THEY ASK 4 IT?

Why else would they need the passport?

1.  Send passport.

2.  Watch CEAC status for changes.

When status changes to "Issued", you will know it has been approved.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Common sense tells you that they aren't going to ask for the passport to only the say "denied "

How long ago was this "2 weeks"? I hope you did not delay with the sending of the passport and miss the window of opportunity......

Your visa is processing normally. They need your passport to affix the visa to. Millions have experienced this same process and receiving their passport with a visa attached.

Usually it indicates they wrapped up whatever additional processing was required and can proceed  to issue the visa. They need the passport to affix the visa.

 

This is not a guarantee, though. They could request the passport to verify travel history, revoke another US visa (if they had one), etc. Only way to know for sure that it was issued is when CEAC shows ISSUED, or the passport arrives with the affixed visa.

I think we should consider that when somebody ask a question in this forum, is because they’re looking for an answer, they don’t have any reference and “common sense” is only valid when we have some experience from past events. We need to be careful on how we deliver the answers.

Thank you guys i really appreciate all the good and bad answers...by the way guys i ask this question on behalf a friend,my case the you see on my page,is pending for approval for a 2 interview,but my bestfriend is the one the was trying to see what if anyone had the experience,or something similar.✌🙏
