Hello,

I just filled out my I-129F with all the information my Fiance' ( from Thailand )  and I can give. There are sections that I literally have no answers for. Do I leave blank or put in  N/A?

Examples:

Employment History - I still work there

Parents Information - Both are deceased - Should I put DECEASED under City / Country?

Can I put "how we met" on a separate piece of paper and attach it?

Thanks!!

Steve

What is "how we met? " and what part of the form is this a requirement?

YMMV

Welcome to the forum.

You really should read and review the VJ step-by-step K1 Visa Guide: https://www.visajourney.com/guides/k1-fiance-visa/  , and the official form and instructions: https://www.uscis.gov/i-129f  for more information and answers.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

"Present" is fine for the end date. You can write it in if needed.

That's fine.

The "circumstances of meeting within 2 years" requirement has a space on the form. The size of that space implies how long of an answer they are looking for - i.e. we met on x/x/xxxx in xyz for x days. But yes, you can attach a sheet if you really want. It's just not necessary in the vast majority of cases. They just want to know a single time you met within the past 2 years (and provide supporting evidence of it) so they can check off the box that the requirement was met.

Hi payxibka!

It is Part 2 Item number 53. I said YES and it asks to explain.

"Circumstances of meeting" is not a "How we met" letter.   If your response is longer than the space provided on the form (item 54),  it is time to rethink your response

Wow. almost rude comments.. is this how the site is?   in the example the guy met 2 times.  if you comprehend English it says under part 2 53 if you answered yes to attach evidence to demonstrate that you were in each others physical presence during the required 2 years.

If you look at the chart for reason of ! 129 F denials is is majority of times  due to lack of evidence of a relationship.  Somewhere I read that you add in a letter explaining your meeting and progress of your relationship even to the point of airline tickets, boarding passes, hotel receipts, and pictures.

Can you provide said chart?

I have never seen an I-129F denied due to lack of relationship evidence. Or an RFE for it. It's not a requirement for the I-129F.

An "evolution of relationship" type letter has been something suggested by some sites for years and years. It's not needed. They are just looking for evidence of meeting at least once within the past 2 years.

The airline tickets, receipts, etc. are some items that can help show meeting in person within that 2 year period.

So just 1 set of airline tickets is needed?  I have been on so many websites I will have to look for  where I saw this in chart form.  I think it was on this site.

but here is one case i found in 3 seconds.

The evidence must show that you met in person at least once within the 2 years to filing the petition.

I personally would not be comfortable with just 1 piece of evidence unless it was bulletproof (like government issued photo IDs from the same place and on the same date). Even then, I would probably include passport stamps anyway.

Passport stamps (or equivalent, if the country does not issue stamps) are usually best as they are dated and from the government (and can probably be verified by the US if needed).

Then things like receipts, airline tickets, etc. are good to include.

Then photos and such. The issue with photos is putting a verifiable date on them is nearly impossible.

The idea is to show that you met in person at least once. It doesn't need to show every meting in person..just one.

is it ok to put 3 4x6" photos in the plastic holder?  I was just going to include 43 photos of us together over our 7 visits and all the AirBnb and Hotel room receipts plus airfare receipts and some boarding passes and visa stamp pages in passport..  can you do overkill?

scan and put them on regular paper.  Your petition is going to scanned by the lowest  bidder contractor. Anything not on paper should be considered as lost.

Yeah - you have tons of evidence.  Quality over quantity any day.
