What does EB, GC & IO stand for?

EB GC - Employment Based Green Card

IO - Interviewing Officer

OP - Original Poster

Kindly answer the concerns raised so that we can be of better help

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Tbh, I don't even know which question is the most relevant to answer. I'm not sure how these questions are relevant to what I'm asking.

My husband and I got married in Barbados in May due to extenuating circumstances with my family coming to Nigeria for our wedding. The original plan was for him to return to Nigeria after the wedding. However, we decided that it would be easier and more cost effective in the long run for him to stay in Barbados and for me to travel back and forth to see him during this process. He's been in Barbados a total of 7 months. He was not in Barbados at all in 2018 only 2019.

Moderator, please close this topic. I got the answer I needed from USCIS and everyone was correct that he would have to go back to his home country to do the interview. Have a great day everyone!

Op ask the embassy. I had a similar issue and asked the embassy and they said once the person is in a legal stay they can interview.

havent finished the stage yet but it could be the same. Ask the consulate.

Sometimes fellow posters you can ask for extra details a bit more gently. I really refrain from posting sometimes because of this.

Thank you very much for your reply and your kindness. I'll give them a call in the morning, it cant hurt to ask them too.

This entire journey is very stressful and emotionally draining at times. Kinda feels like you're walking on eggshells to get everything done right. I didn't know who or what to ask but I thought this was a great place since all of us are walking this path now or walked it at some point. Thanks again and I pray things go well for you too.

He's staying Barbados right now but he is a Nigerian citizen.

Ask the US Embassy; some are more lenient than others. Although the following example was for a nonimmigrant visa, it shows that tourist status was accepted at US Embassy Bridgetown: https://sailingbritican.com/b1-b2-visa-for-sailors/
