Thanks --saw the additional info after I posted, so deleted my earlier comment.

I think I may have made the first post a little confusing since I’m not very well versed in this whole government employment thing. However, he is a federal employee and has been for many years (he’s an engineer). They do internal recruitment for deployments like this one, he had to apply for it and it is voluntary.

No worries -- even long-time US government employees get confused about employee/contractor issues when it comes to explaining work status (especially when also trying to sort out immigration issues!).

In the military world everyone expects military couples to get married first and ask questions later.

😁 so true

With the Navy it's probably going to be Stuttgart/ Germany. I recommend this area 😊

Funny, cause I lived in Emerald Isle the whole time I went to school and did my first two years at Coastal in Jacksonville, then transferred to UNCW. I absolutely love NC and I would love to move back there. However, John thought it was too slow, hence his move to San Diego. Maybe one day he’ll give in lol!!

I actually moved back to NC from Los Angeles last year with my family in tow. We wanted our family to grow up near family and to have some acreage. Now we are living south of Raleigh on 6 acres. But I just got offered that Singapore job so we are thinking about it. Btw I love EI so much
