i sent off my I-130 spouse application on the 18th of August and received a letter in the mail 10 days later that they received it and that also states my receipt number. I sent my application from California and below the letter says it’s at the Texas service center. My receipt number starts with IOE, I heard that having a receipt number starting with IOE is faster is that true? Has anyone had this if so how long did it take till they approved you?

I don't know nothing about IOE being faster but if is in Texas the processing time is between 8 to 10.5 months (USC filing for spouse).

You can check it here:

https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

+Plus NVC time.

Mine was in Texas too and took in total 14 months.

Good luck

IOE is an electronic filing, which appears to be a system they are testing out. It's not yet known if it's faster or not for an I-130, or if it will have any noticeable impact or not. It might just be due to how they transfer the files internally for as far as we know at this time.

For the whole process, yes. 14 months I started in May 2nd and get my visa approved in July 9th.

My case was IOE too.

Testing is over.

It's not a pilot anymore. This is the new way of getting the system done.

The old system had flaws in regards to anyone searching receipt numbers. Eventually it will be faster and cheaper for USCIS since they don't have to ship anything or store anything.

You're in line like everyone else in Texas. There's no faster anymore.

So everybody filing an I-130 is getting IOE? Or just TSC?

I'm assuming that is the goal, but some files will still need to be shipped around. There are circumstances where the IO has to see or feel the physical document (i.e. embossed documents/seals/etc.) to verify authenticity.

Everyone seems like it from end of June till now on the progress forums. They still get assigned a service center.

So they get a NOA1 with the IOE receipt. Followed by another mail that shows them how to login to myUSCIS with an access code.

If you used a casetracker you won't find any more i-130 cases past June as well. That obviously uses the old site.

Commentary:

It's exciting because maybe one day everyone is in one pool and they won't preassign individuals to a service center and just the next adjudicator from any center can get the next one in line making it all even.

Guess so, but still hoping for the best.
