Hi guys,

i filed my AOS application last July and already had my biometrics appointment. How does uscis issue an RFE? Do they issue it before the biometrics or after?

Thank you

They issue it when they get around to reviewing the file.   Biometrics appointment is no indication of future results

YMMV

After biometrics -once they can actually review your file, which will happen months from now- or after the interview.

My wife's file certainly must have been reviewed before biometrics because immediately after her biometrics appointment her status changed to ready to interview

An RFE can come at any time prior to approval (or denial). Usually it's after biometrics but not always.

Correct,  for those of us who experienced the May biometrics scheduling snafu,  some were getting RFEs before the biometrics appointment

Thank you guys for the quick response.

My status hasn’t changed at all. A week after my bio appointment it only changed to “fingerprint review was completed”. Now I’m so worried coz I saw a lot of people who were issued an rfe even though they’re above the 125% poverty guidelines. What i’m worried about is that When i submitted my aos, I only included my husband’s 2018 itr. We’re only a household of 2. And now I’m worried sick coz i got a job offer and requested to expedite my ead. I’m sooo nervous that this might affect our application.

😭

You are experiencing normal processing.   I485s are taking 60 to 75 plus days to get to a reviewer's desk.  You are not there yet

YMMV

EAD is not dependant on where you live becauseit is adjudicated at NBC.  Unfortunately,  green card is and Minneapolis is a very backlogged office

YMMV
