Regional Differences within Siberia? [split topic]

Does Siberia have discernible regional differences within itself?

For example, can you tell which part of Siberia someone is from on the basis of spoken dialect?

Curious, because even tiny Ecuador has distinct differences that people there can detect.

There are native Siberian people who have their own language and own culture, although almost all of them also speak perfect Russian. 

 

There isn't a lot of dialect variation in the Russian language...it was homogonized during the Soviet Union, so they don't have such drastic regional accent differences like in the US, UK or Germany. I suspect there are some instances where a Russian from one region might hear someone speaking and say "Ah! That guy must be from X." but it seems pretty rare. Maybe the Russians from Siberia can expand on this.

Katya said she can tell a difference especially with Russians that grew up West of the Urals.  And even though she was born in Khakas, she is not of the Khakas peoples.

There are certainly things like "Moscow" accent and things that are referred to as "okanie" and "akanie" (putting emphasize on vowels o or a) . And like others said, depending on what you mean by "Siberian people" as indigenous people might not speak Russian as their first language. My history is rusty, but I believe Amur regions were forcefully colonized sometimes in 18th century, population of Chukchas, samoeds, and the likes, speaking variety of languages that linguistically are very different from Russian. I don't believe they even belong to Indo-European language family at all. 
Having said that, I, personally, think that among people speaking Russian as first language there are no such drastic differences like exist in English, so nothing as strong as American Southern Drawl, or English/British split. Interestingly enough there is a "blatnoy" dialect that can be roughly compared to maybe AAVE (African-American Vernacular English) but it doesn't have racial component to it.

Katya agrees, the differences that she notices are slight.  As to the indigenous Siberian folks, there are many various ethic groups.  Many of them are Turkic ancestry, but I am interested in the Yeniseian Peoples and their language.  There are very few of them left (Kets and Yughs) as they were forcefully collectivized by the Soviets, but their language is hypothesized to be a relative of the Na-Dene Native North American language family.
