Question K1 Marriage & expiring visa

Hi!

 

My k1 visa expires on the 10th of August

However, I will marry on the 29th of July. 

We are worried that we might be violating the terms of my visa...since it will take 10 days to register the wedding 

in Boston.... I just read this information in a website.

Does someone can help me with this ....

Your wedding date is the day the officiant pronounces you married, not when it is logged in some database

The expiration date of the visa only applies to entry. You then get 90 days from entry to marry. Marriage occurs on the date of the wedding, not when it is recorded.

Then you would file AOS.

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received
