ds160 question- if the k1 is a non immigrant visa- should i answer no?

I think this question is referring to any other petitions that may have been filed on your behalf.  If the answer to that question is no then I would check no.

I checked No. K1 is a non immigrant visa, so if you have no other petitions I would say no

I was wondering about this question, too. I must say the whole Immigrant/Non-immigrant distinction (despite in itself being quite clear) visa doesn't make the whole process any less confusing because the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa, but an embassy or other institiutions would treat it as an immigrant visa  :blink:

Well, in the end I decided to tick "no" because there has been no other petition filed on my behalf before, and, indeed, technically, K-1 is non-immigrant. The USCIS need to think about their phrasing, IMHO...

I think people have answered this both ways and nothing much happened. It's not going to fail you. If you never had a previous girlfriend in the US who petitioned you, then I would choose No.
