Somewhere in that list you could add "CO gives verbal (meaningless) approval".......I wish COs would not use the term "approved".

actually wish USCIS would not use word "approved" at the 1st stage

one man from Morocco was told approved and given the "welcome to the US pamphlet"   (teaches English in Morocco and is a government worker/ clean reports)

but 3 months later his USC gf recd notice case was returned to USA

and another (mississippi woman with husband in Morocco )  was appoved and issued visa and told to return with passport 2 weeks later and they stamped REVOKED  on the visa

Both of these are VJ members

so,  anything can and does happen

just wait it out

get that visa

and  put your 2 feet in the USA

you have a spouse visa,  get the green card and then do your traveling

Every time I see someone post "I just completed my interview and I was approved".....your first example always comes to my mind........

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

Not really.  Employers have power over all of your entry/exits over there and there is a requirement (legal) to be out of the country for a certain number of days each year with not a lot of choice as to when you can plan it..

He said it was a vacation.

My wife's friend is currently stuck in AP in Jakarta (since April I believe). They told her if she needs her passport to travel while she's in that status, to just let them know and they'll return it to her so she can use it. I am sure the embassy in Riyadh would do the same. And none of us can say if using your passport now will extend your AP or not...

Thanks for the info.. Did your CEAC status kept changing while they had your passport. As mine is stuck at Ready for interview since i gave my interview couple of weeks ago.

Ours did not change for a few days - I don’t remember how long

So, I wrote to the embassy and explained them my situation. I asked them that how can i request my passport back for travelling.

I got a very brief reply from embassy that "Your case should be ready by early next week. Thank you for your patience"

My CEAC is still showing Ready for interview and last updated is today ( because of my mail )

Should I expect a good news in next week as they didn't mention administrative processing or any other delay over the mail?
