Hey everyone

As the title states. She told me it didn't require the NVC case # and didn't even ask for payment. So...

1. Is submitting the DS-160 prior to receiving the NVC case # a problem?

2. How do we pay the fee now?

Thanks!

Please, which country is the beneficiary?

If you submit ds160 before NVC thats a big risk and its not advisable.

I will advise you wait for your NVC number and till it says ready before you submit ds160.

Beneficiary's country is Brazil.

Why is it a risk?

The website says the application is only good for 30 days so if you go longer your app may no longer be viable

The 30 days is for saving the application on the website before you submit it.

You can also save the application to your computer and upload it beyond the 30 days so it doesn't matter.

The payment will be made at ais visa website when scheduling the interview.

no need to rush sending anything. The embassy in rio takes approximately 5 weeks from approval to send out the info required for the interview.

you may start filling out forms and gathering docs, but if the embassy is not ready for you, you’ll have to wait anyway

The DS-160 I filled in for my K-1 visa application to the Stockholm embassy didn't require the NVC case number either. Only the i-129f receipt number. Seems to differ between embassies though, which of the two numbers they prefer.
