I have my petition approval letter and it states to contact the consulate . Do I still have to wait on the NVA ?

You likely have your USCIS receipt number. Do you yet have your Department of State (DOS) case file number? That number is typically assigned by the DOS National Visa Center (NVC). You can try to contact the NVC, check some recent forum threads as to when folks have been contacting them. You may have to give NVC some time. You will need your DOS case file number to communicate with the interviewing embassy/consulate.

We have filed one and next week will file her son Ds-160

I have a A number but no dos number as of yet

I called last week they saint never received my paperwork as of yet from Uscis ! Called them on the 28th and received approval as of the 14 th of June !

It took about a month for NVC to receive my wife's case from USCIS.  USCIS does not send it immediately to NVC.  Sometimes they send it when they have a big batch of files to send.

Not sometimes but as a standard practice they batch and ship about every other week

Yep.

 

Patience is a virtue. If you don't have it embarking on your visa journey. You will get plenty of opportunities to practice your patience skills. This whole journey is not a sprint race, but rather it is a marathon race, you have to learn to pace yourself.

Yes but once she is here it dosent matter ! Then we have so much more to do with getting her life situated and the child !

So it has been 3 wks since approved ! They told me in 6 wks they will send case # to Kiev and embassy will get in touch !

No wonder nobody else can get through.....
