I called earlier today. They were no help. Just said it “takes up to seven months to process”

The answer your getting, you'll get this with any government agency, their timeline for their process is ALWAYS over inflated. You MUST take their answer with a grain of salt. If you follow this thread with any intent, then there is so much history not only on this topic but other topics. Spread your wings and visit some of the other "monthly" threads and follow the discussion. It's a real education.

Even the work part. There is so much to get done in that regards and for January I have a course to teach at the local University and I am not sure if I should do or not. For now I say I am doing it because i dont know what is happening with this wait. Plus I dont want to feel bad about the execution of the Census 2020. The longer I am here the more responsibility I will get and if I have to leave in the middle of it then I will feel horrible. But you're so right, I need to not think about it too much.

Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Everyone is assigned an A-Number. You will be asked through out many of the process's for that number, so store it away. It will appear on many documents you received from many different government agency's.

Here's a little up on what's upcoming.

Additional information can be found here:

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

There is no alien number on my noa1... is there something wrong with mine then??

Yeah I’ve been reading all the monthly ones. Saw a few people who called in the last and we’re told the they were “close to processing” and then later got NOA2s the same day. Figured it’d be worth a try.

Looking at our NOA1 letter right now and there's none in ours as well. The only A-number there is my fiance's since he's a naturalized citizen (plus it's on the upper right box beneath the Notice Date).

Yeah, my fiancé was born in the us to American parents so he doesn’t have an a number. Hopefully it’s all good that there is none for me either then! I have a social security number already though, I don’t know if that has to do with it?

Ohmigosh, I think that might be the NOA2 letter already! @Soon To Be Mrs. T Is that I-797C or I-797? If it's the latter, that's already the appoval notice! 😍

An A Number is not assigned till yor application is approved.  It will first appear on your NOA2 and is located just above the beneficiary's name. Knowing this you can be safe in knowing that's your NOA2 approval.

It's not the Approval Notice. How I wish it is!

It's only the Receipt Notice. It was issued recently after we reported that we did not receive a hard copy and requested for one.

I searched VisaJourney for similar cases but this is the only one that I found:
