I know that there are three ways to send documents to NVC - online upload, email processing, and mail processing.

Can someone who has done their process from India tell me if they did online upload or mail processing?

My situation is that I applied from Canada initially so my case number begins with MTL and I was asked to do online upload. But now I am transferring to India. Trying to understand if I would have to resend the documents by mail or the same ones already uploaded will be accepted. Thanks!

Process will be electronic upload UNLESS you have a case beginning with AKD, AMM, BGH, DMS, GZO where email processing is required.

You'll find the full process steps documented at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visa/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process.html. Look at Step 6 and search site for more info on embassy change or call NVC.

IndiaAnnie, the step 6 page clearly states there are three ways of processing. India does not fall under email processing for sure. I just want to understand if online upload is the process for Indian applicants or mailing is the method.

Online upload only with BMB (Bombay) case numbers. If you've already completed the process I suspect they will just update your Embassy on record and put you in the queue by case complete date. If you haven't completed the NVC process yet and call to change embassy now then you will receive the BMB case number and invoice about 6wks after you get NOA2 from USCIS.
