My case status just changed to request for initial evidence. Is that a good thing?

People always wanted to avoid RFE, it puts hold in the process, but it’s not as bad as it sound. All you have to do is provide them what they asked for. Once they receive your RFE response they will start working on your case again. Good luck

Are you a CR1 applicant ?

how long it takes to schedule an interview, it depends on your local office .

No. My case went from Case Was Updated to Show Fingerprints Were Taken to New Card is Being Produced (January 27) to Case Was Approved as of today, January 28.

Wow! You have a very impressive timeline! I wonder if it's Potomac being really fast.

I got married and filed 485 when you were going through K-1. I got my GC couple of months earlier than you did, and filed for ROC 2 months earlier than you, but you're approved already!!

Congratulations!!!

It's been 105 days since my biometrics appointment, and at this point as a LIN filer, I'm just getting prepped for filing my N400 this summer.

I fully expect not to receive my 10-year card at all, and just go straight to citizenship at this point.

And a combo interview will likely be (long) after the election at this rate, so I don't even get to participate this time around. 😫

I know everyone is anxious to get their Permanent Green Card, so am I. But at this stage, I think what we should be doing is to pray for God's protection on everyone (particularly the USCIS agents who are handling these cases) against this COVID-19, because if one officer falls sick or dies as a result of this virus, the files being handled by that person gets transferred to another person's table, which will ultimately cause an extended backlog. Consider so many people at the USCIS office falling sick, trust me, no case will be adjudicated for years. This virus is inevitable, so we need to start asking for God's protection, healing and mercy on everyone.

I'm a WAC filer who sent my package in the beginning of June of 2019. Since July when I got a NOA I didn't hear back and still didn't get a biometric appointment letter. I just got an update that they request additional evidences. Wondering if something might be wrong with my application? Didn't expect them to request more evidences...
