  1. According to the forum expediting due to pregnancy generally doesn't work, so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high - but there's still a chance it will. Along with the expedite request, you can also contact your senator and explain your circumstance to better your chances.
  2. I was in the same situation with the due date of my first child fast approaching. I had a B2 visa on my passport from before, but decided not to use it after filing i-130. I made a request to expedite, and was able to move through quickly from NVC to consulate and to the interview. At the interview I requested they expedite stamping of the visa, which they did the next day, and I flew out the day after. Made it just in time for the birth! So definitely give it a try, no harm in that.
  3. I don't have specific advice but can share my experience. I had the one-page birth registration certificate from the local ward office, which was in both English and Nepali. It was printed in 2016 so registered late. I only included a regular non-notarized copy, and I didn't get an RFE. I'm not sure why you got an RFE for it. I wonder if they misplaced your BC.
  4. In northern VA, the USPS also has very few appointment slots available immediately. However, they have started taking walk-ins on weekdays - even though I don’t think they advertise that fact. I saw many walk-ins when I went for my appointment. They do gibe people with appointments priority though.
  5. My I-751 interview for my June 2019 filing was finally scheduled in January (for early Feb interview). However, I had moved to a different state and didn't realize that changing my address online wouldn't change my address for the application. I requested them to reschedule the interview via phone. The status of my I-751 went back to "Ready to be scheduled", and then never heard back about the I-751. The next notice for interview was for my N-400, which turned out to be a combo interview. Since the evidence to be presented is pretty similar for both, I-751 and N-400 (3 year), a combo interview makes more sense but I guess you don't really get a choice.
  6. I guess he means that depending on where you live, it might be a while until you get an appointment for a first-time passport. The closest appointment near me is almost a month away, for example. But the process should be the same once the application is submitted.
  7. That's helpful. Work will likely need me to travel internationally soon, so I think I might expedite if just for the peace of mind. That's very helpful. So it doesn't really matter where you apply from.
  8. Which city/state? Did you expedite? How long did it take you to get the passport and your documents back? I'm trying to get a sense for how long it might take right now, during the pandemic, but as travel restrictions lift and people are looking to travel. Is expediting worth it?
  9. I'm sure you got this sorted. We were worried about the same situation, and we did end up finding the birth certificate. However, the officer didn't ask for the birth certificate or passport at the interview. It's good to be prepared just in case, but it's likely it's not needed.
  10. After being stuck on the "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" forever, I filed my N-400 last October, and got called in for my naturalization interview late last month. I had my combo interview yesterday, and will be taking my oath today! It's been a journey for sure. In a way, not needing or having to travel during the pandemic made the long wait more bearable, but glad to be done. Good luck to those still waiting, it takes time but you will get there!
