question about form I-485

it says i got to send in a copy of my marriage certificate. do i have to send a certified copy of my marriage certificate? or can i just make a plain photo copy of it and will that be good? thank you

Interpret instructions literally.  "Copy" = a photocopy.  Maybe take the original to the interview, whenever that's scheduled.

A photocopy is fine, bring the original or certified copy to the interview. 

 

Or send the certified copy if you want. Doesn't matter.

Legible photocopy of the original or certified copy is what a careful read of the instructions say
