Anyone filing from Houston/Texas stuck at NVC? Maybe it has to do with the marriage fraud scheme in Houston?

Saw this article.  My fiance and I have been waiting at NVC for almost 4 months.  Wondering if other people filing from Houston or vicinity for a fiance in Vietnam are stuck at NVC?  Maybe it has to do with this?

Wouldn't be surprised since NVC normally doesn't hang on for K-1 cases for longer than maybe 4 weeks.

Perhaps, but if you regularly read the news articles on the USCIS site, marriage fraud busts are happening all the time in lots of different jurisdictions.

I'm just grasping at straws trying to figure out why we've been at NVC in AP so long.

Last year at this time, K-1s were taking 6+ months for petition approval, and NVC was taking two weeks.  Now the petition phase is taking 3 months and NVC even longer.

The mysterious ways of the US immigration agencies.....

Maybe it has something to do with ebb and flow. USCIS speeds up and unloads a ton approvals and now NVC is busting butt to assign case numbers and then USCIS gets slammed from the news articles that promote that the sky is falling and NVC sits and waits for production from USCIS. It's been this way for years.

Vietnam and Texas is probably a bad combination right now.

We did take 6 weeks to get out of NVC.

But with the announcement of the indictments, it seems they should be ready to move on now for you guys.

I told my gf she didn't need so many pictures.

What do you mean "I told my gf she didn't need so many pictures"?

I mean she wanted to print pictures of every day I've been in Vietnam with her.

That's hundreds of days.

I told her just to be natural, she didn't need to practice questions because she needs to just tell the truth.

It was as I expected. No one asked for pictures and her interview was only 15 minutes, a bit slower because it was in English.

Very nice staff, friendly and professional, I've had worse experiences at the DMV!
