So my spouse called to inquire about my I 130 which nearing 10 months now and he tried to escalate it and a Sr Advisor got on the phone with him and asked questions about our marriage and basically tried to tell him that this might be a Scam ... anyways they scheduled him for a phone interview in 20 days and I'm supposed to be contacted for another one after two days.

Is this the actual interview or is this a screening? When we pass this interview do we get our GC or we'd have to go and meet in person at a USCIS local office (closest is Milwaukee wi but my case is at Minneapolis and this office doesn't even populate in my searches)

Where are you? Are you currently in the US? What status are you in? I assume your spouse filed I-130/I-485 together?

A lot more info is needed to assist. And this definitely wouldn't be the actual interview for the GC approval, this sounds like more of a screening, but it definitely is unique also.

Have you heard of anyone doing this? Or seen it in someone's timeline?

Honestly can't say I have. It is interesting for them to be scheduling phone interview/questionnaires. @geowrian @Cyberfx1024 , you know anything or seen this?

Nothing I'm particularly familiar with, but it's certainly not the first time an IO has called for information in the past...I just couldn't say what kind of impact it really has on the process as a whole. I would be surprised if they didn't have an in-person interview still, but anything is possible.

I haven't heard about phone interview before so this will be a first; very interesting. I would have thought maybe they'll do a stokes interview rather.
